What Just Happened? (part 1)

    We just survived/endured/loved a crazy week! Last Thursday my sister Alli flew into town and Chris, Jenny and the girls arrived late at night.
On Friday we went swimming and enjoyed Guedos. Note to Jenny-- you like the steak quesadilla.

On Saturday morning I hosted a baby shower for Alli's upcoming baby girl. (Thank goodness she's having a girl- I'd hate to see her fashion sense go to waste). We had an awesome turn out and it was so fun to see so many people. I learned that I'm not good at getting a group of people's attention (unless I'm doing Zumba moves), and that I should think about the things I may need to say as a hostess ahead of time :). The food was amazing. We had delicious salads, Grandma's rolls, Jenni Konkle and her mom made the best cupcakes, mini fruit pizzas, etc. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics, but fortunately Alli's friend did. I just need to get those from her! Here are a few I stole off of Instagram:

While the girls drooled over all of the adorable baby girl clothes, the boys (and Miss Kate!) were having fun riding.

    On Saturday evening we drove over to Curbo and Candace's house for the blessing of sweet baby Charlotte. She is so tiny and beautiful. It was very neat to have all of my brothers there to bless Charlotte. We enjoyed delicious food courtesy of C-bug's mom and it felt so good to be together as a family.

Nolan loves to hold his baby cousin. Kyle, well, he said maybe he'll like her when she's four.

Saturday late evening we cleaned up from the baby shower, put out a few extra chairs and hoped that we would all endure the next day.

Sunday morning my brother talked in church for the last time before leaving on his mission to Concepcion, Chile. Taylor did an awesome job and the Spirit could really be felt. He will first fly to Provo where he will be trained for 6 weeks and taught some of the Spanish language. Then from there he is off to Chile! After church we invited family and friends over for a brunch. I counted 96 people (not including babies)! I was shocked! It was so wonderful to have so much support from family and friends. Through all of this we missed my mom and dad tremendously, but they were able to be there via Skype! I'm surprised they were able to hear anything with that many people around!

We decided to celebrate Father's Day next week because of all the other activities, but we still honored our Dad on Father's Day. There's no doubting these kids love their Papa! Even when he lives on another continent. This photo shoot was Sunday night.
