Breathing

We are alive. We have been in AZ for over a week. Things have been crazy (as expected), the boys wake up way too early, I've only unpacked a few boxes and we never see Tim because he has started studying for the bar exam. Life is great though! (Seriously).

I have a camera full of pictures that I need to download, but for now I wanted to share two links.

1. My parents have started a blog that will be updated while they are serving in Argentina. They leave in 3 WEEKS! My heart can't take it.

2. My friend Ani has a very sweet baby Ruby who is in need of a liver transplant. They are in and out of the hospital constantly in the mean time.

If you have tissues, you can read her blog here. If you have any money you can donate to help cover hospital expenses, you can do that here. We've been praying for little Ruby.

I hope everyone is doing great! We feel so blessed to be where we are, doing what we are. I just hope our home in TX sells soon!

Word to your Mother

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! This morning as we were getting ready for church Kyle put his church shoes on and after I tied his second shoe he proudly said, "See Mom. They are fine. I don't need to be sad," and walked off.  A Mother's Day miracle I tell you! (If you read my Easter post about Kyle's shoes you'd understand).

I am so lucky to be a mom and it is something I hope I never take for granted. My boys make me so happy. Yes, it is a full-time job but that also means more rewards! Seeing the two of them playing nicely together is the best thing ever.

I'm grateful that I have such an amazing mother who has such a strong testimony of the gospel, is so loving and fun and is such a good example. Thank you to all the moms, sisters, aunts, cousins and friends in my life who have loved me and loved my boys.  Word to your mother!

You Can't Rain on this Parade

Today will be great.

It is Cinco de Mayo.

It is Tim's last time taking a final for law school.

And
it has been five years since I got the peanut butter to my jelly.
the marshmallows to my goldfish
the Buzz Lightyear to my Woody
the GPS to my car
the pink frosting to my donut
the tennis ball to my racquet
the smile to my face
the T to my Ray.

Today we will celebrate five years of marital bliss.
Life is always better with TRay around.

(I went with corny instead of gushy. Thank me later).

Picture Perfect

On Easter morning we woke Kyle up early so that he could find his Easter basket before I headed off to urgent care due to some horrible allergies. I couldn't send my boys in their Easter best to church without me experiencing it, so we dressed them today.
Despite having 9 am church, the boys were dressed and ready for the camera this morning. Kyle was so excited to get to match Nolan. Well, it all went downhill when we pulled Kyle's church shoes out. We go through this every Sunday morning.

He hates those shoes. He cried until it was time to load up, cried all the way to church, cried in the car with me until I got him out (Tim had already gone in with Nolan). He cried in the halls. On the ground. In my arms. On a chair. I convinced him that, yes, indeed he could walk in those shoes. He then repeatedly would take three steps and then fall. All while crying, "See Mom! I can't walk!" We walked into Sacrament meeting late with him sobbing as he climbed into Tim's arms.  (It was quite comical to some). When it was time for nursery he put his shoes back on and went off without saying a word the rest of the day.

It's all an act. He's a pretty good actor too.

So, we were left with sun-in-the-eyes, messy hair, it's hot outside, let's hurry of a picture after church.

And it still makes me smile.

We are two days and two weeks out from moving. I spend my days looking around the house, wondering how it's all going to get done and eating. I spend my nights packing a few boxes and eating. I'm scared to see what I'm going to look like at the end of this!
