The Gift that Keeps on Giving

   Today we were able to use a Christmas gift for the first time... our season passes to Sea World! It was sooo windy today and freezing, but we bundled up and went. We only stayed for two hours and didn't see Shamu, but who cares when you have all year to do that?
   Perhaps an even bigger attraction than the friendly killer whale was this foam pit. We stopped here twice. The worker there kept on saying to me, "He's so happy!" Kyle took a great afternoon nap thanks to this pit.

Tim and I are planning to go back by ourselves next time so we can do the fun rides. Tim did go on one roller coaster that you can see from our house. Thanks Mom and Dad for the awesome gift and thank you Nina for Kyle's cute outfit. It kept him warm!

Man's Best Friend?

    My sister-in-law Candace recently blogged about her love for dogs. While I am happy that people like Candace and my mother-in-law truly love dogs, I can't see a place for a dog in our home. EVER. There are other Heymans who share this view with me. Kyle, however, is a little more like Candace. Rewind to Christmas 2008:   Meet Lucky the Wonder Pup. Kyle was lucky to receive Lucky (no pun intended) for Christmas from Uncle Scooter. While packaged and marketed towards girls, boys and girls and adults alike can enjoy Lucky. He does tricks that range from "pouncing," to standing on it's head and even playing dead. He even sings! Yesterday Kyle was playing with Lucky and laying his head on him. It was too cute. Then Lucky sat there while Kyle ate fruit snacks. What an AWESOME pet! He doesn't shed or poop either!    Besides playing with battery-operated pets, Kyle has been loving the pack-n-play. This was his bed for the first seven months of his life. Now we take it with us to friends houses so we can put Kyle to sleep there and stay longer, and leave it set up at our house for when others come over. Kyle loves to roll around in it and even brings Tim and I by the hand to it. What a goofy kid.

He's also been skipping naps,

sleeping in weird positions when he actually does sleep,

... and WALKING really fast! His crawling days are limited!

Sweet Sixteen + Advice

   Happy 16th Bday to my little brother Taylor. I can't believe he will be taking the ladies out now and driving a car!! I get emotional easily over Scooter because I felt like his second mom. I don't think he'd want me to write his embarrassing stories here. This pic was last year, when I got to be home for his birthday because it was also the week we blessed Kyle.

How time flies!

Yee-hah!

    Thank you Mr. Washington for allowing us to celebrate your birthday. In honor of President's Day, we rounded up everything and headed to the San Antonio rodeo fair grounds with Andy, Hillery and Sadie. Our main intention of going was to experience the petting zoo! Despite the smell and sometimes fresh poop, it was a lot of fun. Kyle loves petting zoos. Tim tried to take some pictures of him, but most of them were blurry because Kyle was walking so fast, going up to the different animals.    I love this next pic. Although blurry, you can see his smile and how happy he was to be there.

   It was so nice to have Tim home and to be able to do something fun outside. (Also, it was dollar days so it only cost a dollar to get in!)
   Off topic, something is wrong with me. For the past week, after being in bed for a little bit at night I start coughing and coughing and my throat is really itchy. It only stops 15 mins after taking a Claritin. Has anyone else had this happen? I can nap in my bed and be fine... it's only at night when I'm down for the night. I washed all of the sheets again today. Am I allergic to TX?

Sticker Shock

I'll be the first to admit how lucky I am when it comes to Kyle's clothes. My mom and best friend Kristina have been so kind to send Kyle some of the cutest clothes. Every day I get him dressed I can point out something that was given to him from someone. He is one lucky and loved boy. I also love to shop at the second-hand store "Once Upon a Child" when I am in AZ. 
    It's not too often that I am shopping for Kyle, but this weekend has been one of them. I thought for sure Target would have some cute clothes at a good price. Check out this shirt. Then guess the price: Ready? $29.99 What?? It's a t-shirt! I closed my browser and reopened it. I thought for sure something was wrong with the Target website. Nope, it was working. I can't figure it out. This is TARGET people. When was the last time I spent $29.99 on a shirt for myself? I have no idea.

Thank you. Venting is over. I'm still in shock though.

Babies! Babies!

You could say that I've been baby hungry. (Tim don't die). Let me explain why:

1. Kyle. I've been informed by Baby Center that he is no longer a baby, but a toddler. Sad. Once again, he's growing out of his clothes. This time it's his shirts!

2. I was around this cute boy:

#3. My cousin Christi had a healthy baby boy (8 lbs. 10 oz!) early this morning! Christi was my support during Kyle's birth while Tim sat in the corner and drank orange juice so he wouldn't pass out. I'm so sad I'm not there to hold her little guy. Here's Christi with Kyle. I still can't believe how beat up he was!

#4 Two of my friends had beautiful baby boys within the past two weeks as well.
#5. Everywhere I look in church there are either pregnant women or cute babies.
#6. I know of two friends trying to get pregnant and some that are pregnant.
#7. My brother Chris and his wife Jenny are expecting a little baby in August. I'm soooo excited for them and to have another little niece or nephew.

   But don't worry, the "baby hungry" feeling is already gone. It leaves that fast. How can it leave that fast when I am surrounded by so much baby love? That's me, past my due date with Kyle, eating at Tucanos Brazilian restaurant. I can stay away from those days for a lot longer...

Like Father, Like Son

       Kyle already has the same taste buds as his dad. Besides LOVING a little slip of Tim's slurpee, he enjoys beef jerkey, pretzels, anything meat and sour things like oranges and even biting on a lemon. Tim is a snacker and Kyle loves to snack too. His latest is fruit snacks. How cute are my boys?
     Although blurry, I thought you might enjoy Kyle's face as we took the slurpee away and told him (signed) that it was "all done."

     Tim was worried that Kyle was going to get a brain freeze! 

    In other news, today was Kyle's first day without a bottle! I seriously think it is harder for the parents than the kid. It's just sad to see our little man growing up. We had him down to one bottle for a week. Hopefully we will continue to have success!
     Last week was painful, but the weekend got better. Some girls came over on Friday morning and it helped the day go by so much faster! I hate when I'm constantly counting down to Kyle's next nap. I think he is getting molars in. He was screaming a lot and banging his mouth on the ground...which didn't really help the situation. His behavior was lasting so long I started to wonder if he really wasn't teething, but just turninig into a real-life monster. Luckily he has started to improve each day. Have a great weekend!

Hide-and-Seek

My parents were having work done on their stove, so the stove was pulled out away from the wall. My brother Taylor heard my mom yell for some help. This is what he walked in on: This was sent from my brother's cell in AZ to my Dad in New York to me in San Antonio so that I could see, as my dad put it, "The woman I fell in love with."

Decisions

My best decision of today: Putting Kyle outside while I cleaned the kitchen.

(These windows definitely need to be cleaned next!)

Tim's worst decision of today: Attempting to play Guitar Hero while Kyle was still awake. Tim's chances of playing: slim to none.
