Dumb Thieves

Once again we were on our way to being early to church when we turned the corner from our home and Tim said, "My car was broken into last night." What?? Tim pulls our car over and gets out to check out the damage. Clearly they just punched a hole in the window in order to break in. Guess what the dumb criminal could see through that perfect hole?   We're hoping a little religion is what stopped the "person" (I use that term lightly) from doing any more damage. There was a Mustang parked in front of Tim's car, but for some reason his Sentra was calling. The best part is, there was NOTHING to steal from Tim's car besides a few candy wrappers I'm sure. The insurance card didn't even have our correct address on it. The glove department was open and the gas tank popped open (we think they were dumb enough to not even figure out how to open the trunk) but other than that everything was fine. I hate unexpected expenses.
Tim said in New York they would have stolen his rims and left his car on cinder blocks... and if they wanted to do more they would strip it, doors, stock radio, lights and then set it on fire to destroy the evidence, so I know things could have been way worse. :)
To add to the Sabbath fun, Sunday was our turn for Sharing Time, so it was Kyle and I by ourselves while Tim stayed home to wait for the cops. Luckily Kyle loooves the piano in primary and our pianist (Diane G.) is nice enough to let Kyle sit on her lap, so my Sharing Time had a little music in the background. We survived and are truly grateful that the damage (and Primary) wasn't worse. I think next time we'll leave a little late to church.

Chopped

Chopped the hair. Sister wanted to see pics. This is my, "I'm smiling at the computer feeling stupid" smile: Side shot: Thanks to my friend and talented ward member, Amber, for cutting my hair. I even added a few bangs, which I was very nervous about. Love it. Off to play bailiff at Tim's moot court!

Table Manners

Kyle loves peaches, whether fresh or canned. Last time at the grocery store he tried to pull a fast one and grab a peach and bite into it. I usually cut the peaches up, but tonight Kyle showed us that he can eat them in any size ... because they're just that good!

Speaking of the grocery store, I have mentioned on here how much I dread going there. I have a problem that Tim and I diagnosed awhile back. I become obsessed with one ingredient at a time. In the beginning of our marriage, for example, I used to buy excessive amounts of Cream of Chicken Soup. Apples, oranges, instant oatmeal and lettuce have also fallen victims to my obsessiveness. This happens because I am so frantic at the store and I think to myself, "I'm sure I'm missing something," and so I throw something into the cart that I usually use. This problem has even gotten worse with shopping with Kyle because I am literally power walking in the store. Anyway, Tim thought it was funny when we discovered my latest victim:
Does anyone else have weird problems like that?

Shake It

After our long drive to and from AZ for Christmas, I came home determined to force Kyle to like some sort of cartoon so that I could play him a video on our next car trip. Previous to this experiment, Kyle would only watch his signing Baby Einsteins DVD, but unfortunately that didn't even hold his interest on the car ride. After a couple months of trying, I have practically failed. I say practically because there is about one minute of television Kyle LOVES... thanks to the opening song of "The Backyardigans." Anytime this show comes on Kyle looks at me or Tim, then hurries to the front of the room and gets his groove on.

Kyle has two molars that just cut through on the top. This morning was one of those mornings where I contemplated teaching him the game of hide-and-seek and then hiding from him for hours until Tim came home. At the same time, we had fun at the park today and Tim let him play in the sprinkler in our backyard while I was gone tonight. The rest is for my memory's sake:

Kyle's favorite thing to do now is take our hand and lead us to whatever he wants while pointing and saying, "This! This!" He loves grapes and strawberries. As soon as he puts one strawberry in his mouth he signs for more before he's even started chewing. He can say "Jesus" when he looks at a picture of Jesus we have in the third room. He signs ball and bath now. He is learning to jump but sometimes he can't quite get his feet off the ground. It's hilarious to watch. He recognizes Papa and Grandma in a picture we have and walks around giving it kisses. His naps are becoming less consistent, I think he is ready to go to just one nap a day (Nooo!). He has thinned out a lot but looks the same age as most two-year-olds I am around. When he is mad he bangs his head on the ground, wall, anything around him.
Anytime I am on the phone he signs and says, "Dadadada!" Every morning we call Tim and he walks around the house with my cell phone on speaker, making loud noises. My favorite time of day with him is right after dinner. He is so happy and will actually play with his toys. Kyle loves being on the couch and rolling around on it. He will give 5 second hugs and Tim and I cherish them anytime we get one. He can't sit still for the life of him.

I love my little monster. Some days are trying but it's always worth it!

Might have been a Leprechaun!

Please enjoy a Heyman family You Tube favorite.
My little brother Taylor does the "Crackhead" voice perfectly.

Two other reasons I love today:
1. It's my aunt Lori's birthday and she is amazing.
2. Chris and Jenny find out today if she is cooking a little boy or a little girl in her oven!!
EDIT:    IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Two Little Fishies

We took Kyle and Sadie to Sea World on Saturday night. We got there at 6 and left at 8. We wore them out right in time for bedtime! We definitely got a few looks from people. No, they aren't both ours. No, we aren't crazy. Yes, we do love them!
Tim was excited to go to the "Believe" show and see Shamu! Kyle loved this guy. He ran up to him again after our picture turn. Hopefully he wasn't in the other people's picture!
Here's the real thing:
We brought plenty of snacks to occupy Kyle and Sadie. They are so funny together. If one kid is eating a grape, the other makes noises until they get a grape. Same thing with every snack they ate. Next we wore these little fishies out in the foam pit. Sadie was a natural for her first time there. We also saw the dolphins. Tim's smile may have been the biggest there. The kids were so cute because they would put their hands out as well.
We had a ton of fun and it was the perfect way to end Tim's Spring Break. Now we are trying to get used to life without him around again. Here is one last pic of Kyle and Sadie sharing (worth documenting):
How cute is her hand under his? I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

$3.23

We had a ton of fun today for only $3.23. It's a great feeling.

Tim and I went to Sea World using our passes (free). Hillery was so kind to watch Kyle (free) so that we could do the roller coasters and water rides ourselves. We didn't bring our camera with, but Tim got to touch a dolphin! We saw sharks and eels and penguins too. (Kassidi every time I saw a worker in the aquariums I thought of you). According to Tim I started to hyperventilate on one of the rides, but it was seriously a ton of fun. I freak out before the ride starts but then I love it.

When we picked Kyle up it was so dramatic (gets it from his mother). As soon as Hillery opened the door Kyle started walking toward us. Instant tears and then he fell to the ground crying so hard. haha. Sorry Hillery! I'm sure he had fun but he also missed his morning nap. Sorry again Hillery.

Then we went to Jack in the Box. Not a huge fan, but we used 3 coupons when ordering our meal. That's where we paid $3.23.

Next we rented, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" from Redbox. We're so cheap we didn't want to pay the dollar. Tim used a code and we got it for free!

Has anyone watched that movie? It is so sad. The saddest movie I've ever seen. I don't even think I can recommend it because it was so sad. The cinematography was beautiful though. I'm still in shock over the ending. That's all I have to say about that.

I hope you guys had a great day. I forgot to mention- Tim is on Spring Break and we are loving every minute of it (except when he still goes to the library to study). Have a good one!

Sunday Bloody Sunday

We arrived early enough to church today for there to be plenty of time for this to happen before church even started: Basically, I let Kyle walk around since we were so early and his shoe got caught and he tripped, hitting his mouth just perfectly on the edge of the step up to the podium. I ran to pick him up and right away the blood was gushing. It's quite the fat lip. We loaded everything back up, took him home, drugged him and fed him ice cream. Then we changed his clothes, treated the old ones and headed back to church to teach primary. Hopefully your Sunday was a little more reverent and a little less bloody!

Lovin Life

Tim is downstairs playing Guitar Hero World Tour with some guys, and I'm only given a turn every so often so I decided to post a few pics. Today was a great day. We woke up early (Kyle kind of does that to me. He only lasts in his crib about 45 mins before he cries. haha. What a good kid!), and went outside to do yard work. Let me tell you about our grass here in TX-- it's like WEEDS. The stuff is so itchy and dry, I can't walk on it unless I'm wearing shoes. Anyway, Kyle thought the lawn mower was so cool but Dad wouldn't let him play with it so he played with this shop vac and loved it. He walked around pushing it like a push-toy. I snapped a few pics.    Notice Kyle's sandals? That was last weekend's adventure. It took us an entire night of going to stores to find a pair of shoes that fit him. Kyle has the fattest feet. I had him try on so many different pairs that every time I sat him down again he would start crying and I felt like the most W.T. mom who couldn't control her kid in public. The sandals are a little nerdy, but they have velcro openings that allow for his chub.
Life has been great lately. Kyle and I spent the past week outside ALL day long. He brings me to the door at least three times a day. Although TX is too far from home, I am enjoying being here, mainly because of the friends I have made. The people in my ward are so fun and a good support since Tim is gone most of the time. This semester has been better than last and I hope it continues that way :). Tim and I just feel really lucky to be where we're at and to have a healthy family.
Well I think it's about my turn. I haven't flamed out yet during my turn so they should let me into their band! :) Have a good day!

Someday

These are a few of the things I wish Kyle could understand today:

1. Touching my white, clean laundry with your cheese cracker hands is not the best way of helping.
2. Out of your options at lunch, your banana was probably the worst thing to squeeze and throw on the floor today.
3. Kicking me while I'm changing your diaper does not make the awful process go faster.
4. Although fun, playing peek-a-boo with the shower curtain is not safe. Neither is running in the bath tub.
5. I'm not mean for not letting you walk around the house with a cup of water.
6. Your toys really are more fun than opening and trying to bite our DVDs.
7. If you put a toy, sippie cup, magnet, paper, etc. in the trash can when I'm not looking, chances are likely you'll never see it again.
8. Life is great. I promise. 9. Hitting your head on the ground (or a fence) while crying only makes you cry longer in the end.
10. I wish you'd stop growing up so fast. I promise.
