The Reception

    *as always, posts from my trips home contain a multitude of pictures* I'm going to have to do a post every day or something to get all of these pics on here! The reception was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. I, unfortunately, spent most of the reception like this:   Since the reception started at Kyle's bedtime, I found this swing and stayed there until he fell asleep and then stayed there in hopes of him staying asleep. The night was really cold. Luckily my mom had some extra black sweaters that we put over our dresses. The home that the reception was at was so beautiful. Just walking outside made you feel like you had escaped to a little European villa. Since I was on the bench all night long, the following pictures I took from my cousin Cara. Kate

    I have the cutest nieces and nephews. I get to see my niece Kate soon and I am so excited! Last time I saw her was in May, looking like this:

And now she looks like this:

     She's all grown up and is the cutest little toddler. Whenever we iChat she always wants to see Kyle and calls him "Baby." Last time we were iChatting I put him on the ground and she was trying to look for the baby right away. Thank you Curtis for getting married, it is allowing me to see my family sooner than Christmas!! (Oh, and I'm also excited to see Kate's parents :)) I guess I should finish packing...

     During my pregnancy days with Kyle, I envisioned that I would have had Kyle's room set up a month before he was born, or in other words, December 7, 2007. Fast forward almost ten months from that date and it is almost done!       You may be able to notice that the bumper no longer resides in the crib. When Kyle first started sleeping in his crib he would cry and cry. I looked on the video monitor and he was always trying to pull the bumper down or arch his back far enough that he could look over the bumper. After I took it out he slept much better! Here are some close ups:     I love the things on this shelf! It's a picture from Kyle's blessing, a wooden Pinocchio Tim brought me back from Italy, a b-ball signed by PHX Suns players from a game Tim and I went to in high school, a wooden giraffe Alli brought Kyle back from Ghana, the last picture taken of Tim's dad before his death (with TRay himself) and a teddy bear from Kyle's shower.     I am looking forward to some day having a clock, matching bedding for the twin bed and a vintage motorcycle print for this room. :)
   We loved conference weekend! We went to Pie Night at the Konkle's, a bbq at Tim's friend's home and had Andy, Hillery and Sadie Bug over during conference. Kyle was great during all of the sessions! Last night I even snuck in some time to make this: Cool info: The new temple announced in Argentina is in the area my dad opened on his mission! Less than a week until the wedding. I'm so excited to see my oldest brother get married!!!

Better!

     This week has been so much better. I really feel like my prayers were answered. I know next week will be great too because I'm going home for Curtis and Candace's wedding! Wohoo! Here's a little update:
     Tim took this cool shot of the sun going down. We love when we see things like this, but nothing beats an Arizona sunset!   Kyle's second front tooth broke through. I think you can see it a little in the second picture:
     Yesterday he was a grouch the whole day because of it, except for when Cousin Sadie came over. It's so fun to watch them play. Kyle just stares at her for the first little bit but Sadie makes herself right at home and crawls all over. It's going to be interesting when they both crawl!   I was looking at my camera when next thing I know Kyle was going for Sadie's pacifier.   He doesn't even get that they are for sucking. He just bites. She didn't seem to mind!    I tried to get a picture of them together both looking at the camera. This was the closest I got!   When I worked for Sister Black she brought back these stacking dolls from Russia. Kyle thought it was a cup:

   Later that night we dropped Kyle off at Andy and Hillery's and Tim and I went out. We hadn't gone out on a date in months! It was so nice to do that, although we did miss Kyle. Thanks so much Andy and Hillery!

  We're looking forward to watching general conference this weekend. I always love conference. I guess that means we'll get Tim home on Saturday too!

Week in Review

    Really I'm just blogging because I am avoiding the dishes right now. Last week started out great because we organized Tim's mission pictures in chronological order and put them in albums. Hooray! It felt like such a big accomplishment. Tim is still obsessed with his mission, so he had to approve of every picture I threw out, but it was fun.
       After that I had a rough week. This is usually the time of year when I'm reuniting with my classmates, seeing friends on campus, fall weather, living near my sister and cousin, etc. The state of my loneliness in TX began to set in. Everyone in my ward and my neighbors are really nice and welcoming, but I look forward to having some friends that I can chat with on the phone and just hang out with. I know it'll take time. One day, in the middle of my somber, I said a quick prayer. It was something like, "Please help me make friends and stop feeling sorry for myself." After that I did the greatest thing--I took my frustration out on my house and cleaned the entire house. Kyle even napped extra long for me to get everything done. It felt so great!! Heavenly Father knew I needed to focus on something else and it worked. The next day I was able to enjoy myself instead of cleaning like a franctic lady during Kyle's nap. So I balled my eyes out reading this book:     "Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10." Despite the heavy cursing, this book was amazing. It provided me with a better perspective of military personnel and the sacrifices they make fighting the war going on right now. Tim and I both read it and loved talking about it afterward.
    Did anyone watch the Relief Society broadcast? I got to go out to CPK for dinner with a group of girls and then watch it at the stake center. Although I was tempted to just watch it at home when I found out it was on our tv, it was nice to get out and I'm sure Tim loved his bonding time with Kyle. I loved President Uchtdorf's talk. He is such a funny guy.

    We also got Kyle's shelf up in his room and so I hope to have that put together in a couple of days. It's finally starting to look like we didn't just move in. I'm so excited!
